Drug Task Force arrests 2 in New Ulm as meth found

NEW ULM — A 43-year-old New Ulm woman and a 35-year old New Ulm man face four felony drug charges after the Brown-Lyon-Redwood-Renville County Drug Task Force (DTF), New Ulm Police and Brown County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search warrant at 801 N. Jefferson St. Jan. 19.

Stephanie K. Tisdell and Zachariah S. Tisdell, 801 N. Jefferson St. face charges of felony 1st-degree drug sale – 17 grams or more of methamphetamine within 90 days, two counts of 1st-degree possession of 50 grams or more of meth, and 5th-degree possession of not a small amount of marijuana. Charges were filed in Brown County District Court Wednesday.

Zachariah Tisdell bailed out of jail Wednesday after appearing in court. His bail was set at $150,000 without conditions, $75,000 with conditions. His next court hearing is 3:15 p.m. Feb. 4. Stephanie Tisdell bailed out of jail Wednesday after posting bond of $150,000. Her court appearance was set for 8:30 a.m. Feb. 12.

According to court documents, police knocked on the residence door and no one answered Jan. 19. A DTF agent used a tactical ram to enter the residence after the door was found to be locked. Officers found Stephanie Tisdell in a bedroom and Zachariah Tisell, in the living room, according to court documents.

Officers found a round container containing a crystal-like substance on Zachariah and Stephanie Tisdell that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. They were arrested and transported to the Brown County Law Enforcement Center (LEC). In addition, officers and agents found many drug paraphernalia items consistent with meth use in plain view.

In the bedroom, police found many paraphernalia items and a jar with a crystal-like substance at the top and thick liquid at the bottom.

Other items found in the residence included a green hose, glass bong smoking device that field-tested positive for meth, a broken glass smoking device, a crystal-like substance removed from plate field that tested positive for meth and weighed .8 grams, a curved glass smoking device consistent with meth use, a glass smoking device with tube attached, a short, green tube, unused baggies, a Matrix 500 digital scale with residue that field-tested positive for meth, a gallon-size bag with a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for meth and weighed 235 grams on a non-certified scale, a Federal box of ammo .357 rounds, a zip lock bag with 200 founds of .22 rifle ammunition, a prescription bottle of Trazodone HCL 50 mg prescribed to a person not at the residence continuing 46 pills and found to be a Schedule IV drug.

Items found in Stephanie Tisdell’s room included a .22 long “Marlin” rifle, a crystal-like substance with a thick liquid at the bottom that weighed 90 grams and field tested positive for meth.

In Zachariah Tisdell’s room, police found a Ruger 9mm handgun loaded with 13 bullets and one in the chamber was found, three bags with residue, a black case with glass pipe and residue field-tested positive for meth and an unidentified black substance that weighed 1.1 grams on a non-certified scale.

Drug ledgers were found in the kitchen and a small safe was removed from a large safe in the living room. Also found in Stephanie Tisdell’s bedroom was $1,406 in cash in her wallet that was seized pursuant to the warrant.
