The New Year

2010..... New Year´s Eve was spent lighting off fireworks with my three brother´s and helping my aunts prepare a delicious meal. At twelve we, along with all of our neighbors, set fire to paper mache dolls in the street right in front of my house. This process symbolizes the burning of everything bad in the old year in order to fully embrace the new year. After which, my whole family returned to our house to eat and dance.
