Hobby Lobby would be WONDERFUL! also would like to say that i don't think that the Hardee's in new ulm was a failure....seemed to be pretty busy back in the day if you ask me....probably only sold because walgreen's offered them a LOT of money to buy the lot.....pretty sure that was the reason that Hardee's left town to begin with i would love to see a Panera Bread, Culver's, Arby's and maybe (even though i personally won't eat any kind of fish/seafood) either a long john silver's or Red Lobster? and i would also love to see an Olive Garden.....i'm sure that New Ulm will see a LOT of big name stores come to town now that the Menard's and Walmart are here.....i am frankly a little more than excited about the changes to this little town....and i can't wait to see more happening on the north end of town (Dairy Queen) is the only "fast food" restaurant on this side of town and that isn't exactly FAST either

Caring1:
Rule Number One--we try to have as few rules as possible at Sven's.
Rule Number Two--you can't combine coupons no matter how much you may whine about it.

Maybe we will attract a Culver's or BW3's.
I look forward to being able to go to a store that is open past 5 on a nice Sunday evening in summer when I have projects going on outside. Running's and the local lumber yards haven't had the most convenient store hours, though I like their stores.

I wouldn't be opposed to a Hardees. They had good food, the problem was that the building was run down and the service was as bad as a chicken restaurant. If it is run right, I think they could do well.

How long will the Hardee's be in business? There is another Hardee's only 10 minutes to the west in S.E. and the previous Hardee's in N.U. was a failure.

Hardees is going to be build at the intersection of Westridge Road and Jacobs Street. On the corner between Walmart and the Super Center Squar strip mall. This is confirmed.

MCW, target will never get turned into a super Target, no matter how much you whine about it. One, there is not enough space on the lot, and two the store isn't profitable enough. My wife's friend is a manager there, and they chat about it.

Wow, 4 disagrees for my first comment. Chinese sweat-shops are just fine with the German crowd as long as the price is right.

I heard it is Hardee's, but I could be and am hopefully wrong...Not a Hardee's fan. Would love to see it like it is in Hutchinson, with Menards, Culvers and Kwik Trip next to each other. Owning a bookstore would be like a death wish, nobody reads books anymore, everything is e- book readers.

I am not saying that Sven's is not a good book store on history I shop there a lot and the museum too for history. I went to three fabric stores here in town yesterday looking for buttons. I went to Target looking for canvas sorry folks Walmart is beating you on both. But a nice Craft store without having to drive to Mankato would be great. Whats wrong with a nice book store we have lots of room close one of the bars.

Next: Turn Target into a Super Target.
Does anyone know where the new fast food place is building? I don't know if I'm at liberty to say which franchise is planning on coming to town, unless there is already rumblings of who it is.

Now those local businesses can go take a hike with their insane mark ups. I'm sure they can find employment with menards.

I'm sure Menards will have shoes at some point in time, they will be cheap but you will just have to wipe the sweat off of them.

So exciting....now I don't have to drive to Mankato. But, now I have to think of other reasons to go to Mankato...maybe to buy mens shoes?
