Hats off to the NUPC for having a reliable system and good back-up systems. A substation failure can be a major event, but we endured just a 15 minute outage. That kind of quality does come at a price.

New Ulm Residents are being ripped off and over-charged for their utilities! This is practically criminal since their are no other choices for service. I cannot believe no one in the community has done anything about it, as of yet! Who will rise up ?

Ok, lets clarify a few things here.

The bus bar failed when the EPOXY (not "apoxy") deteriorated.

The waste water plant already replaced one of the 900 HP BLOWER motors (not "lower" motors)with two 300 HP blowers. Those little bugs that eat all the waste need a lot of oxygen and thus need blowers to keep the dissolved oxygen levels where they need to be to keep the little critters alive. With the old system, the air wasn't delivered efficiently and often they were delivering more oxygen than needed. They new system allows them to slow the blowers down by means of a variable frequency drive. The Total Dissolved Oxygen is continuously monitored and the drive speeds up or slows down the motor to keep the oxygen levels at an optimum level.

Finally, the project has been completed for over 6 months. This is not something that "will be completed".
