The people who are opposed to drones please post your alternatives. I can only think of two other ways to address the terrorists and that is have troops go in which is more American deaths and more cost or simply cut off all diplomatic and economic ties with countries harboring terrorists which amounts to an isolationist approach. There are no easy answers but criticism without options or alternatives is useless and counterproductive.

Most hard-liners consider the women and children collateral damage, the price you pay when you are at war. If the drone strike was not ordered that would be a sign of weakness and there would be howling from the right, either way it is a no win situation.

TURBO75 - the government told you that 7 terrorists were vaporized but did not tell you how many innocent women and children were vaporized. Did they mention that? Most past presidents would have shored up the embassies with additional security but this strategy just gives the appearance of being weak. But it takes Benghazi, the IRS and other current items off the screen for awhile. Now telling President Putin we aren't coming just further verifies the cavalier attitude despite assurances during his "campaigns" of using diplomacy and talks to further relations. Appears there is confusion(maybe disinformation) as to which side of the mouth they are talking out of.

For security reasons could The Journal editorial staff please disclose the address of the planet on which they are living? On what facts are you basing your statement that the current strategy is a failure? In the past few days a drone strike vaporized 7 more terrorists, what more are we suppose to do?

I'd like to know what "Intelligence sources" the Journal has that allowed it to come to this brilliant decision.
