Catch and ticket speeders to keep people safe not as a source of revenue to offset property tax increases. It's like raising the gas tax to fix the roads. Guess what happens when you do it ? People drive less or acquire more efficient cars and tax revenues end up going down. So, if you start nabbing speeders people will slow down (good thing) but so will the issuance of tickets and in turn the revenue generated from the tickets. So in the end property taxes (or other taxation) will go up anyway. A better solution is to look at ways to better control spending.
