I believe there is honor in all Indian based names for schools and pro teams. They are proud of their names. They wouldn't have them if they weren't proud. I don't understand why it is not seen that way, but I do respect how Native Americans feel.

I just know the team names are not to demean anyone. Schools and pro teams view Native Americans as true fighters, true warriors and want to live up to what they stand for and are proud of what they stand for. That's how I see it. But, I am not a Native American, so I can't speak for how they truly feel. The editorial does portray a very positive & different view, which I think puts a whole new perspective on the issue.

I still am laughing at svensota's joke about the Washington Redskins in regard to this subject. If you missed out on it, you missed a truly good laugh.
