TAYLORS FALLS, Minn. (AP) — A couple who planned to hold their wedding reception on an excursion boat cruising down the St. Croix River won't have to worry about anyone getting seasick.
Instead of a two-hour cruise on the river surrounded by fall colors, Kristianne Neeser, David Boroski and their wedding guests will remain docked at Taylors Falls Friday night thanks to political bickering in Washington.
The St. Croix National Scenic Riverway is managed by the National Park Service which notified the owners of Taylors Falls Scenic Boat Tours that it must cease operations because of the federal government shutdown.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press (http://bit.ly/1hoAmea ) says the couple was still hoping for a miracle Friday. But either way, Neeser says they are getting married and their family and friends will be there to celebrate.
