November 18, 2013
Associated Press

ORONO, Minn. (AP) — The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the man fatally shot by police outside the Orono home where a Twin Cities physician was found dead.

Dr. Stephen Larson was found dead in his home Friday night. When officers arrived they encountered a man in the yard armed with a handgun. Police say shots were fired and 30-year-old Ted Hoffstrom, of St. Anthony, was killed.

Minnesota Public Radio News (http://bit.ly/1bTWxY1 ) reports the medical examiner says multiple gunshot wounds caused the deaths of both men.

Authorities have not said what Hoffstrom was doing at Larson's home. The sheriff's department plans a news conference later Monday.
