Family of man killed by police files lawsuit

January 9, 2014

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The family of a man shot and killed by Brooklyn Center police has filed a wrongful death lawsuit.

Twenty-four-year-old Edmond Fair was killed during a traffic stop last August. His family alleges Officer Ryan Soliday used excessive force when he shot Fair.

Soliday's attorney, Paul Rogosheske, tells KSTP-TV (http://bit.ly/K83JHq ) Fair was wanted for kidnapping, resisted police and tried to take a Taser and a gun from the arresting officers.

A grand jury recently decided against charges for Officer Soliday.
