20th Annual Hockey breakfast

NEW ULM -The 20th Annual Cashwise Foods/New Ulm Hockey breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3 at Turner Hall, 1st South and State Streets.

Tickets cost $5 for ages 11 to adult and $3.50 for kids ages four years old to 10 years old. Toddlers are free of charge. Take-outs will be available.

Red Cross Blood donations

COMFREY - The American Red Cross will hold an upcoming blood donation site from 1-7 p.m. on Jan. 12 at the Comfrey Community Center in Comfrey.

People are asked to contact Mark at 507-877-4801 to schedule an appointment or for more information.

CAST to offer Book Discussion

NEW ULM - CAST (Community and Seniors Together) will offer a guided book discussion at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 4.

The current book selection will be discussed and at this meeting the title for next month's discussion will be distributed. For more information call Dian at 354-3212.

German-Bohemian Society won't meet Saturday

NEW ULM - The German-Bohemian Heritage Society Research Center will not be open this Saturday, Jan. 2.

Sahlstrom Family Singers to perform today

SPRINGFIELD - The Sahlstrom Family Singers will give a musical performance at 4 p.m. today at the Springfield United Methodist Church, located at 205 N. Marshall.

This group performs a mix of classical, bluegrass, hymns, Irish, Scandinavian and original music with their old-fashioned harmony. A free-will offering will be taken.

Oncology patients' dinner

NEW ULM - The Oncology/Infusion Center at New Ulm Medical Center will be hosting its annual turkey dinner for patients and their families on Monday, Jan. 11 in the hospital auditorium.

Patients are asked to call 507-233-1562 to make their reservations. Anyone interested in donating turkeys or pies, and especially needed are fresh squash, are invited to call the same number.

Brain Injury Support Group won't meet in January

NEW ULM - The New Ulm Area Brain Injury Support Group will not be meeting in January.

Otherwise, these meetings are held from 2-4 pm on the first Saturday of every month. The group's meeting place has also changed. In February and following, the group will be meeting in the Fireside Room at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (2nd N. and State Streets) in New Ulm.

Walgreens H1N1 clinic

NEW ULM - The New Ulm Walgreen's is offering an H1N1 vaccine clinic today from 2 to 5 p.m. The cost is $18, and Walgreens will be able to bill Medicare and Medicaid. Call 507-35-8793 for available times. Walk-ins will be available after Dec. 31.
