Red Cross blood drives set in area towns
SPRINGFIELD - The American Red Cross blood drive will be held in the following locations: 1-6 p.m. Monday, March 1 at the Community Center in Springfield; and from 1-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 700 S. Broadway in New Ulm and also from 1- 7 p.m. on Monday, March 1 at the Vet's Club, 206 Main St. in Winthrop.

Brown County Park Commission to meet
NEW ULM - The Brown County Park Commission will be meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 1 in the Brown County Courthouse Commissioner's Room.
Caged 4 Critters Fundraiser event planned
NEW ULM - The Brown County Humane Society will be holding a "Caged 4 Critters" Fundraiser event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 6 (the Jail and Bail date ) at the shelter.
People (snitches and jailbirds) are free to make their own phony charges as long as they are in good humor and taste -some examples are: a fashion citation for a bad wardrobe, theft of office pens, wearing pants pockets too high, trafficking caffeine, failure to show up for work on time, operating a tongue without a license or failure to yield at the end of a sentence. (Please make charges sound as unrealistic as possible).
People are encouraged to fill out a form along with a donation at the Brown County Humane Society or Pampered Pets.
Guided Book Discussion set
NEW ULM - CAST (Community and Seniors Together) will host a guided book discussion at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 1 at the New Ulm Community Center.
People can stop by and listen in and join the group by picking up a book fro the next meeting. For more information please call 354-3212.
High Island Lake Conservation Club's 47th Annual Fish Fry set
NEW AUBURN -High Island Lake Conservation Club's will hold its 47th Annual Fish Fry from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27 at New Auburn City Hall.
A menu of fish, cole slaw, beans, potato salad and a beverage will be served family style and also all-you-can-eat. Adult tickets cost $9.50 and children ages 5-10 cost $5. Takeouts will be available until 6 p.m.
Sleepy Eye Knights of Columbus to host fish fry
SLEEPY EYE - The Sleepy Eye Knights of Columbus will host a fish fry from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26 at the Servicemen's Club .
The club is located at 109 1st Ave. South in Sleepy Eye.
