NEW ULM - This year's New Ulm Figure Skating Club presentation will have a different bit of a theme, but according to Director Julie Van Amber, it should be a fun presentation for both the participants and the audience.

The show's title is 'Dancing with the Stars On Ice' which will tie together the performances of the skaters with different dance styles, including the Mambo, Ballroom Dance, the Samba, and a little Hip Hop.

Show times are 7 p.m., Friday, March 5, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., Saturday, March 6 and 1 p.m. Sunday, March 7. Tickets can be purchased at the door or at Cash Wise Foods and HyVee in New Ulm.

"We are very excited about the music selections for 'Dancing with the Stars On Ice'," Van Amber said. "Plus, using a popular and fun TV show to showcase our skating talents will make for a great ice show this year."

This year's guest skater is Heather Klosterman. She is a USFS Senior Freestyle and Senior Moves in the Field skater and has also passed her Canadian Gold and Canadian Gold Moves in the Field levels. She has competed at the Minnesota State Championship and Upper Great Lakes Competitions since 2004 and in 2008 she competed at the Synchronized skating Nationals and Worlds with Team Braemar. She is one of our most recent additions to our coaching staff and attends Gustavus Adolphus College.

The figure skating club has approximately 105 members living in New Ulm and also from many cities surrounding New Ulm, including Sleepy Eye, Arlington, Courtland, Madelia, Hanska, Gibbon, Mankato, Lafayette, Nicollet, Redwood Falls, Springfield, Fairfax, Winthrop, and St. Peter.
