NEW ULM - Holly Glaubitz, worksite lead for Hearts Beat Back: The Heart of New Ulm (HONU) Project, presented a poster session at the 36th Annual National Wellness Conference held July 18-21, in Stevens Point, Wis. Entitled "Engaging Small Employers in a Worksite Wellness Program Initiative (WWP): Penetration of Worksite Wellness Services Across an Entire Community," the presentation won an award for the poster that best represented the conference's theme of "Growing Wellness."
HONU's Worksite Wellness Program initiative aims to engage the largest 100 employers in New Ulm to impact employee health and productivity. The emphasis is not only on the cost savings of health care, but also on productivity indicators and morale. Glaubitz and the HONU team have provided local employers with a variety of programs and services, including employee heart health screenings, employee lifestyle challenge programs, employee health and wellness presentations, wellness environment and culture assessments, employer leadership events and a wellness newsletter for employees.
