Wenk awarded Minnesota Healthcare Engineer of the Year

NEW ULM - New Ulm Medical Center (NUMC) Maintenance Supervisor Dave Wenk was named Minnesota Healthcare Engineer of the Year for 2011 at the Minnesota Healthcare Engineers Association annual meeting on Sept. 15.

Wenk has been the Engineering/Plant Operations Supervisor since April 1997. He has seen the building and campus change, and experienced several leadership and staff changes.

He has been a key player in the successful completion of several large construction projects, including the current Cancer Center Renovation and Expansion Project.

He received his Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) in January 2008 and the NUMC 2010 Quality and Safety Award. He is past president for the Southern chapter of the Minnesota Healthcare Engineers Association.He has played a key role in the emergency preparedness planning and execution at NUMC.
