ARDEN HILLS - A New Ulm native recently received the Heart of a Leader Award from Boston Scientific, a global company that produces cardiac rhythm and vascular products.

Jodie Alwin, daughter of Floyd and Carol Alwin of New Ulm, a Fellow/Area Clinical Advisor at the company, was among 160 nominations for three awards.

Alwin's award recognizes employees who consistently demonstrate leadership competencies.

She was cited for her relationship-building and was recognized as a valuable resource by customers due to her technical expertise and dedication to physicians and patients.

Alwin annually attends the Mayo Clinic Alumni meeting at the Heart Rhythm Society Conference, developing and nurturing relationships with physicians across the country, according to Boston Scientific.

In addition, she was cited as playing an integral part in building key relationships between the field and in-house marketing and engineering teams, volunteering her time to field perspective and aid testing.

Alwin has a bachelor's degree in science and master's degree in business from St. Thomas University.
