NEW?ULM - New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce and New Ulm Convention and Visitors Bureau have released the cover of the 2012 Visitor Guide
Every year, New Ulm prepares a Visitor Guide that is given to visitors in the Visitor Center or who request it via online, mail or by telephone.
The Visitor Guide is a partnership with The Journal. It includes advertisements from area businesses and information about the many attractions and opportunities for guests visiting New Ulm. Approximately 40,000 Visitor Guides are distributed each year and the new guides will be available in early March.
Mitch Madsen of Madsen Ink was commissioned to create the 2012 cover, incorporating a vintage travel poster look.
"Most communities are looking to draw tourists to their area and do a visitor guide. In order to stand out from the crowd and tell our story, Mitch was commissioned with the charge to merge history and modern, German heritage and our beautiful natural setting," said Chamber President Audra Shaneman.
The chair of the New Ulm Convention and Visitors Bureau, Shannon McKeeth said, "The cover of the 2012 New Ulm Visitors Guide does a great job depicting life in New Ulm to the tourism public. The Convention Visitors Bureau's function is to advertise New Ulm as a convention and tourist destination, and the new look will give us a great start on next year's marketing efforts. We hope the silhouette on the cover will be you experiencing New Ulm's legendary hospitality."
