MILWAUKEE The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc., which operates Herberger's stores, announced its Community Days event will be held on Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28.
Previously held in February, this new timing will allow the local non-profit groups a longer duration to organize their volunteers and sell booklets to raise funds. In addition, those who purchase the booklets will find a better selection of spring merchandise in April.
Groups may sign up now at www.communitydayevent.com and begin selling booklets on February 13. The savings booklets contain over $225 in savings on in-store and online merchandise during the Bon-Ton Community Days event.
Eligible Community Day organizations include 501C-3 nonprofit organizations and schools. Non-profit groups sell savings booklets for a $5 donation to support their group and, in return, the purchaser receives the valuable booklet of offers which instantly pays the donor back with a $10-off on $10 or more item-coupon. The organization keeps 100 percent of the $5 donation.
"Providing opportunities to support the communities in which we operate is extremely important to our company," said Bud Bergren, president and chief executive officer of The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. "Community Days provides an organized and easy fundraiser for non-profit groups and significant shopping offers in our store to those who buy booklets to support them."
In 2011, over $10.7 million was raised by participating non-profit organizations through the Community Day events. Successful organizations have raised thousands of dollars by participating in this event.
