The Minnesota Depart-
ment of Transportation
(MnDOT) is proposing
capacity improve-
ments along U.S.
Highway 14 in Brown
and Nicollet Counties.
The highway between
Front Street in New
Ulm and County High-
way 6 near North Man-
kato is proposed to be
expanded to a rural
four-lane divided high-
way section. Con-
struction is not
currently funded so
when the work will oc-
cur is uncertain.
MnDOT and Federal
Highway Administra-
tion (FHWA) complet-
ed their review and ap-
proval of the Final En-
vironmental Impact
Statement (FEIS). The
FEIS document
describes the pro-
posed project, poten-
tial environmental im-
pacts, proposed miti-
gation, and provides
responses to substan-
tive comments re-
ceived on the Draft
EIS. This document
also includes informa-
tion on the project pur-
pose and need, alter-
natives considered,
and funding.
Copies of the FEIS will
be available for public
viewing during busi-
ness hours at the fol-
lowing locations begin-
ning February 6, 2012:
