NEW?ULM - Anytime Fitness of New Ulm has named Tessa Foss, Personal Trainer of the Year, 2011. Foss joined Anytime Fitness in 2007, and lost 80 pounds. After receiving her personal training certification from NETA, Foss began offering personal training services at Anytime Fitness of New Ulm in 2010.
"As a personal trainer, my job is about so much more than teaching people how to exercise. It's about providing friendship, support and motivation as well as showing them that working toward better health and wellness can be fun and not feel like work," said Foss after receiving her award. "A fitness program should be about both your mental and physical health. One effects the other, and when a balance is struck everything falls into place. Being a trainer is about helping people discover that inner strength they never knew they had."
Foss's training expertise includes specialization in weight- management programs, muscular strength and joint range-of-motion training, fitness for older adults, cardio-respiratory endurance, and pre-and post-natal training.
Foss will receive an A.A.S. degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Dakota County Technical College, this spring.
Anytime Fitness of New Ulm is an independent, locally-owned 24-hour fitness franchise.
