NOTICE IS HEREBY
GIVEN, that filings for
elective City Offices
(Councilor-At-Large,
Councilor Ward 1,
Councilor Ward 2 and
Councilor Ward 3)
shall be accepted from
8:00 a.m. May 22,
2012 to 5:00 p.m.
June 5, 2012 at the
Office of the Finance
Director, City Hall
Building, City of New
Ulm, Brown County,
Minnesota. Candi-
dates filing an
"Affidavit of
Candidacy" with the
Finance Director shall
also submit a filing fee
of $5.00. The City of-
fices will be closed
Monday, May 28 for
the Memorial Day Holi-
day.
To petition in lieu of a
filing fee, five or more
voters may "draft" a
candidate by filing an
application on behalf of
a candidate with the
clerk. The candidate
must indicate his or
her willingness to run
by signing the applica-
tion. The petition in
lieu of a filing fee must
have signatures of
people who are eligible
to vote in the election,
either 500 signatures
or a number equal to
5% of the total number
of persons who voted
in the last general
election when the of-
fice was on the ballot
(whichever is less).
