The New Ulm Medical Center Foundation has completed its latest capital campaign, raising more than $500,000 for the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute-New Ulm.
The project, which opened last fall, provides a larger, brighter, better space for patients receiving treatment for cancer. It will be even better with the completion of the Garden of Hope this fall.
This project is a bright example of Allina Hospitals and Clinics to invest in better health care facilities in New Ulm, thanks to the New Ulm community's willingness to support the project as well.
While the building project is completed, and the book is closed on that fundraiser, the cancer center will continue to need community support as it introduces new services for patients, such as genetic counseling and cancer rehab, Foundation Director Carisa Buelger said.
We have no doubt that the New Ulm Community will continue to support this important work.
