To the editor:
We would like to applaud our state senator, representative, and Gov. Dayton for one of their accomplishments during the recent legislative session. They worked together in a bipartisan manner to pass the omnibus Health and Human Services bill. This bill will promote cost-saving reforms within the service delivery system while making sure people with disabilities have individual choices that allow them to lead more meaningful, independent lives.
The bill also restored some cuts to disability services that were made during the last legislative session. Taking care of our most vulnerable citizens in the most efficient manner possible is a Minnesota value. Lawmakers honored that value. Their bipartisan work also served to support small business and thereby retain jobs and positively impact our rural economy.
Thank you Rep. Torkelson, Sen. Dahms and Gov. Dayton for your leadership and good, bipartisan work on behalf of our most vulnerable citizens.
