To the editor:
Its time for our CROP WALK once again and we invite your participation.
Church World Service (CWS) is the sponsoring organization. It is a cooperative, ecumenical ministry that provides assistance to many needs: Hunger and poverty. Conflict resolution and peace building. Refugee and displaced persons. Water source development, disaster relief and HIV/AIDS. CWS served the U.S. and over 80 countries last year.
Several local churches are involved in the planning of this community event.
Brown County Area CROP WALK will be on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. starting at the Putting Green (1915 S. Valley St.) walking the bike trail. Sevney-five percent of funds raised go to CWS and 25 percent to our local Food Shelf. Supplemental Funds have been applied for with Chapt. 31200 Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
This event is about our community working together to make a difference. Please join us. Questions? Call Chris at 359-7052.
