Clyde Thomas Jr. of Greensboro, N.C., formerly of New Ulm, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at the age of 70.
He graduated from New Ulm Public is 1962 and enlisted in the US Navy right after graduation. He was stationed in Washington, D.C., where he met his wife, Betty. They had two beautiful children, Cindy and David. They later moved to Greensboro, N.C., where he worked as a computer technician for the US Postal Service. He retired in 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, David (Kim) Thomas of Greensboro; daughter Cindy (Jerome) O'Keefe of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren; brothers, Robert Earl of Norfolk, Va., Jim (Diane) Thomas of New Ulm, Melvin (Sandi) Thomas of Stacy; sisters, Maxine (Roger) Blomquist, Ella (John) Zimmermann, Linda Schultz, Mary (Dick) Krosch, Irene (Bernie) Blank, Carri Meyer, and Terry (Danny) Anderson, all of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Helen (Ballenger) Thomas and sister Sharon.
He was still an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He also loved motorcycles, hobby airplanes, ham radios and his beloved pets.
