MORRIS - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team lost at Minnesota, Morris in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action Thursday by the score of 5-0.
The Knights were outshot 25-3 in the game, and were unable to get a shot on goal in the match. Bethany Schultz had all three MLC shots.
UMM climbed on top early, scoring a pair of goals in the first half to take a 2-0 halftime lead.
Keely Keese and Katelyn Malley each played a half in goal for MLC, with both finishing with two saves.
MLC dropped to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the UMAC with the loss.
The Knights return to action at 12 p.m. Saturday when they host Crown.
Men also lose
MORRIS - The MLC men's soccer team lost at Minnesota, Morris Thursday by the score of 2-0 in UMAC action.
The game was scoreless until the 27th minute, when UMM struck first on a goal by Ebrima Badgie to take a 1-0 lead.
The Cougars added to it just before the half, scoring in the 43rd minute to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Neither team scored in the second half, and shots were even at 6-6 after the break.
Kaleb Buch had five of MLC's nine total shots in the contest, including three shots on goal. Goalkeeper Eric Hahn saved four of the six shots he faced in net.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 1-6 on the season and 0-3 in UMAC play.
The Knights will return to action at 2:30 p.m. Saturday when they host Crown.
