NEW?ULM Clifford Kiehler, Sr., 88, formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, September 28, 2012, at the Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster, TX.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 3 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm with Reverend Grant T. Bode officiating.
Schmucker Funeral Service of New Ulm is handling the arrangements.
Clifford William Kielher, the son of Leonard and Emma (Schoof) Kiehler, was born July 9, 1924 in Mt. Clemens, MI. He later moved with his family to Memphis, MI where he attended school and graduated from high school. He was united in marriage to Cleo Radatz on October 18, 1958 at Port Huron, MI. Cliff farmed for a time and also worked as a carpenter, factory worker, and the county road commission in St. Clair Co., MI. After retiring in 1988, they moved to New Ulm in 1989. Following his wife's death May 30, 2008, Cliff continued to make his home in New Ulm. He was a former member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Goodells and served on the Memphis City Council from 1970-1988.
Survivors include his children, Annette Berg and her husband Gary of Alvin, TX, Clifford Kiehler, Jr., and his wife Elaine of Spring, TX, Daniel Kiehler and his wife Renae of Memphis, MI; grandchildren, Jacob (Kendra) Berg, Bridget (Wes) Kramer, Brittany and Courtney Kiehler, Erika and Rebecca Kiehler; great-grandchild Peyton Kramer; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Kiehler on June 27, 2003; brothers, Ellwood and Leonard; and his sisters, Margurete, Doris, Elsie and Ethel.
