BREEZY POINT - The Martin Luther College golf team sits in sixth place after a very difficult first day at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships being held at Deacon's Lodge GC.
The weather made things very difficult on the players, with only one player able to shoot less than 80, and only five able to shoot better than 87 because of temperatures around 40 degrees and wind gusts exceeding 40 miles per hour.
Craig Wilke finished with the lowest round for MLC, shooting 91 to tie him for 16th place in the individual competition. The other competitors who scored on the day for MLC were Andrew Schrempf (100), Charlie Crass (103), and Eric Mielke (107).
The tournament will continue at 11 a.m. today.
