To the editor:
In February of 2011, when Gary Dahms was serving in his first few months in the Minnesota State Senate, our state was facing a $5.2 billion deficit. Because of the hard work of individuals like Gary Dahms, in ten months we had a $876 million surplus and in less than 16 months the State of Minnesota had a $1.2 billion surplus.
In working to serve the budget problems, he also worked to protect the most vulnerable with a focus on the elderly and disabled by maintaining current nursing home reimbursement rates. He worked to cut government red tape, helping businesses to invest in Minnesota. Senator Dahms was very instrumental in getting changes made to the permitting process and rules and regulations that make it easier for businesses to start up and grow in Minnesota.
Our area is very fortunate to have a State Senator like Gary Dahms. Let's return him to the Minnesota State Senate on November 6 so he can continue to serve our area and work for the issues that are important to our quality of life.
