MBW office manager Irene Embacher holds a leaf bag for New Ulm resident Peggie Kelly while other MBW volunteers clear leaves from Kelly's yard as part of the United Way of Brown County's sixth annual Day of Caring Events. Kelly said the assistance was "amazing" since she was unable to do the yard work on her own. The event featured 260 volunteers from organizations and businesses around Brown County who volunteered to help the elderly, the disabled and veterans with yard work and other handiwork. The event is intended to encourage community engagement and helping out others in need. The event lasted from 8 a.m. in the morning until 12 p.m.
