NEW ULM - Warren Harding Johnson, 88, formerly of New Ulm, died Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Cloquet.
Funeral service will be 11 am Monday, October 22 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm with Pastor Josh Toufar officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard and the New Ulm Battery.

Warren Harding Johnson
Warren is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Pam and Bruce Stellmach of Sartell, Sue Ressler of St. Paul; sons and daughter-in-law, Doug Johnson of Duluth, Dennis and Sheri Johnson of Madelia; grandchildren, Tyler, Heather, Erin; five great grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alfred, Rollin, Julian, Nathan, Fred; and by two infant daughters.
Warren Harding Johnson was born October 21, 1923 in Sanborn to Fred and Lydia (Weber) Johnson. He attended school in Sanborn. After finishing school, Warren proudly served as a United States Marine in the Pacific during WWII. After his service, he worked as an auto mechanic in Waterville and then at Kraft Foods in New Ulm for 29 years. Warren was adventurous and enjoyed travel, especially to Alaska, and even started learning the guitar at age 79. He enjoyed animals, ice fishing, golf, collecting unique rocks, and helping people. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and the New Ulm Battery. Memorials are preferred to the Human Society of America.
