SLEEPY EYE - Robert "Bob" Simon, 57, of Sleepy Eye died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 26, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-10 a.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL, in New Ulm. The St. Joseph's-St. Elizabeth's Catholic United will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Bob is survived by his wife, Vickie Simon of Sleepy Eye; parents, Arthur and Loretta Simon, both residents of Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye; a daughter, Lindsay Simon of Sleepy Eye; sons, Daniel and Nicholas Simon both of Sleepy Eye; a sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Delmar Ranweiler of Gibbon; a brother and sister-in-law, Denis and Lola Simon of New Ulm; brothers in-law and sisters-in-law, George and Trish Ladd of Prior Lake, Nelson and Cindy Ladd of Belle Plaine, Jim and Sherry Ladd of Luverne, John and Barb Ladd of Sleepy Eye, Mary and Kevin Aaker of Luverne, Sister M. Shirley Ladd of Stanton Island, New York, Jacque and Pat Krzmarzick of Sleepy Eye; and by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Caroline Simon, Wolfgang and Bertha Spaeth; three siblings in infancy, Mark, Therese and Arthur Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Watson and Mary Ladd; a sister-in-law, Bobbie Ladd; brothers-in-law, Mike and Pat Ladd; and a nephew, Jonathon Ladd.
Robert Erwin Simon was born April 19, 1955 in New Ulm to Arthur and Loretta (Spaeth) Simon. He was a 1973 graduate of Cathedral High School. Bob was united in marriage to Vickie Ladd on June 13, 1992 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. After marriage they farmed the Simon family farm in Home Township, Brown County until the present time. Bob loved spending time with his children and attending their sporting events. He also enjoyed motorcycling, fishing and the outdoors.
Bob was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and the St. Joseph's-St. Elizabeth's Catholic United.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to New Ulm Area Catholic Schools, Virginia Piper Cancer Center in New Ulm, Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary in Sleepy Eye or to the donor's choice.
