ST. PAUL - Martin Luther College volleyball players Rebecca Engelbrecht and Miranda Maasz received Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for their play last weekend for the Knights.
Engelbrecht was named Offensive Player of the Week after averaging 6.33 kills per set in two matches. Engelbrecht finished Friday's match at the University of Minnesota, Morris with 32 kills and then backed up that performance with a 25-kill effort in Saturday's win at Crown College.
This is the second time Engelbrecht has won the award this season.
Maasz was named Setter of the Week after averaging nearly 13 assists per set in two matches last weekend.
In Friday's five-set match at the University of Minnesota, Morris, Maasz tied the school record with 62 assists and also set a new career best with 19 digs in the match. In Saturday's win at Crown, Maasz had 54 assists and 15 digs.
The MLC volleyball team will play in its last home game of the regular season today when it hosts Bethany Lutheran for a match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
