PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: GFW falls to LSH

LESUEUR - LeSueur-Henderson defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 21-6 Tuesday night in Section 2AA football action.

Tony Weber led the Thunderbirds both defensively and offensively. He had seven tackles and one fumble recovery defensively and he rushed for 43 yards and had 13 yards passing with one touchdown offensively. Dominic Metzger had 12 tackles for the Thunderbirds.

GFW finishes its season 2-7.

WABASSO 38, RRC 28

LAMBERTON-Wabasso scored 22 points in the third quarter en route to a 38-28, Section 5A win over Red Rock Central Tuesday night in prep football action.

Blake Altermatt led the Rabbits with 134 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He also returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown. Tanner Rohlik had 59 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Red Rock Central was led by Jeff Decock, who had 146 yards rushing on 23 carries and one touchdown. Jesse Rogotzke caught the ball three times for 34 yards and one touchdown.

Wabasso (5-4) will play at Minneota at 3 p.m. Saturday.

LP/HT 45, BLHS 12

LESTER PRAIRIE - Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart in Section 4A football action Tuesday.

Mason Clark threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns for the Mustangs. Ryan Coulter had 113 yards receiving and a touchdown and Kyle Kubesh had 82 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Chris Schmidt had 11 tackles and Mason Clark had nine tackles for the Mustangs, who end their season at 1-9.

Nicollet 63,

Alden-Conger 28

NICOLLET - Nicollet quarterback Dalton Elliott led the Raiders to a win over Alden-Conger Tueaday night in Section 2, Nine-man playoff football action.

Elliott completed 25-of-44 passes for 471 yards and eight touchdown passes.

Evan Guffey had eight catches for 267 yards and five touchdowns. Tanner Elliott had 14 catches for 107 yards and one touchdown.

Nicollet (9-0) will host Madelia (7-2) Saturday afternoon in the second round.

Madelia 42, JWP 34

MADELIA - Madelia defeated Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton in Section 2, Nine-man playoff action Tuesday.

For Madelia, Adam Cooling had 239 yards rushing and 135 yards passing. He threw two touchdown passes and rushed four three touchdowns.

For JWP, Sawyer Gahler had 309 yards passing and four touchdown passes.

Madelia (7-2) is at Nicollet Saturday and JWP ends the season at 3-6.
