NEW ULM - Members of the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce and the New Ulm Medical Center spent nearly a half an hour Wednesday volunteering their time to pose like they were eating. The purpose was to help create a greater shot for an upcoming article on the Heart of New Ulm Project in the nationally read Eating Well magazine.
Eating Well itself is a magazine on the rise with an emphasis on providing healthy options over more easily crowd-pleasing food suggestions. The magazine puts a particular emphasis on flavorful healthy meal recipes for people with limited time and tight budgets.
The Heart of New Ulm Project, which seeks to reduce the number of heart attacks in New Ulm's population over 10 years, has garnered significant national media attention and coverage in the few years it has been running. Recently, it even drew in the U.S. Surgeon General for a visit to New Ulm. The Eating Well profile on the Heart of New Ulm Project will be featured in the January/February 2013 issue of the magazine.
