For less than the cost of a cup of coffee

November 2, 2012
The Journal

To the editor:

As a 1968 NUHS graduate that recently moved back to New Ulm. I support the school referendum. I have read all of letters in the paper as to why we need to vote YES. But the best article I have seen written was the in the Oct. 28 Journal in the OUR VIEW column. It gave all the excuses that some are using as to why they might vote No and then pointed out why it is so important to look beyond those excuses and realize this vote is so very important for our youth and entire community.

I also received in the mail a letter that showed various house values which broke down what it would cost a taxpayer when the levy passes. A $100,000 home would pay a tax of .33 cents a day and a $200,000 home would pay a tax of .66 cents a day. That is less than the cost of a cup of coffee or can of pop. I am asking that you please support our future and Vote YES on Nov 6th.
