To the editor:
I am busting my buttons with pride at the total behavior of the great city of New Ulm this past Halloween. Living on South State Street puts my wife and me in an almost perfect spot to view our citizens, young and older.
Of the many people and dogs that passed by our home, almost 100 percent said thank you after receiving a small treat for their request of "Trick or Treat". I believe that 100 percent of the younger "Goblins, Witches, Princesses, Monsters, Hockey and Football players. Fire Fighters, Police, Marios, and Movie Characters had adult supervision with them. The adults also were responding with "Thank you".
I don't think, by our house, we saw a single incident of "Bullying" or undue rowdiness. This all goes with my perspective that New Ulm is a "GREAT CITY" and filled with "GREAT PEOPLE."
My wife and I would also like to commend the members of the New Ulm Police Department that were on duty for diligent patrolling of State Street to help keep all safe on such a fun but busy night.
All of New Ulm should be proud.
