SLEEPY EYE - Mae M. Schroeder, age 97, of Sleepy Eye, MN died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Divine Providence Community Home, Sleepy Eye.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 6th, 2012 at 10:30am at St. Mary's Catholic Church,Sleepy Eye.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-6pm and on Tuesday from 7:30-10am at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.

There will be a Parish Prayer Service at 4pm and a Rosary at 5:30pm, both Monday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Mae Margaret Schroeder was born on February 12, 1915 in Sleepy Eye, MN, the daughter of Robert & Mathilda Margaret (Armstrong) Patterson. She grew up in Sleepy Eye and graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1933. Mae married John J. Schroeder on June 20, 1938 in Sleepy Eye. She worked cleaning homes while in high school and later at Doeltz and Sheridan Drug and also at Del Monte seasonally. Mae loved reading, watching the MN Twins, and traveling. When she was younger she traveled to Europe and all states except Alaska. She spent winters in Arizona where she enjoyed walking and teaching water aerobics. She especially loved family gatherings and camping. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the special loves of her life.

She is survived by her children, Clem (Cindy) Schroeder of Worthington, MN, Steve (Brenda) Schroeder of Mendota, IL, Lee Anne (Ron) Schroeder of Brookings, SD, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sisters, Donna Bielen of Springfield, MN, Annice Frovick of Pocotello, ID and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, brothers, Harold, Bruce, Bob, Kenneth and Raymond and sisters, Gladys, Lucille and Grace.
