To the editor:
The American people spoke and told me on election day that Mitt Romney was wrong when he said 47 percent of the people in the United States want "free stuff;" they want to draw unemployment, they want to be on welfare, they want food stamps, they want housing, fuel assistance and when they run out of unemployment, they want mental disability or physical disability. They want the government to pay for their education and get student loans from the government and not pay them back. I could go on and on with things they want the government to pay for that they should be doing themselves. There is no such thing as "free stuff." Someone has to pay and its you and me!
That is why I think Mitt Romney was wrong with his 47 percent of the people wanting government handouts or "free stuff." Its 51 percent and 51 percent don't pay income tax.
For the second time I am not proud of my country; First, was the election in 2008 and secondly the election of 2012. I think we missed a great opportunity by not electing Mitt Romney. HE would have been truthful, he wouldn't let the poor starve, and he wouldn't have thrown grandma over the cliff! He wouldn't have denied the women their rights; after all, he is married to a woman who would have made a great "first lady".
I would sooner vote for someone who has the same principles and morals as I do and be in the minority than vote for someone I disagree with and be in the majority. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!
