NEW ULM - An overflow crowd of more than 100 people turned out Friday for the 4th Annual ArtScape Juried Art Show at the Kiesling House.

The event featured more than 55 artists from around the region. The entries and winners were selected by Donald Goldstein, director of the Arts Center of St. Peter. The entries were divided into adult and teenager categories, with cash prizes for first through third place in adults and only first and second in teenagers.

In the adult category, "Summer House-Vermont" by Ruth Lindermann took first place, "Split Rock" by Nan Karr Kaufenberg took second place and "Arrival/Departure" by Broc Toft took third place. In the teenager category, "Untitled" by Samantha Kowalke took first place and "As I am Now" by Shelby Hammerschmidt took second place.

A people's choice award will also be given out on Dec. 21 at the end of the art exhibit's run. People that visit the exhibit can cast a ballot for their favorites pieces.

The event was organized by the Grand Center for Arts and Culture. The cash prizes were supported by local businesses: Bemmels Farm LLC., Clifton Larsen Allen, Gislason & Hunter, Nierengarten & Hippert, and Windings, Inc.

The art display will be open to the public through Dec. 21. The hours for the exhibit are 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
