NEW ULM - The New Ulm Public Utilities Commission will meet today at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
The PUC will consider approving new designs for the proposed water tower in Nehls Park and authorizing staff to put the project out for bids.
The new designs will be smaller than initially proposed water tower. The storage tank is being reduced from a capacity of 500,000 gallons to 250,000 gallons. The downsizing results in the tower just meeting the hilltop water needs.
The PUC will also receive and file the results of the city-wide 2012 Survey of Public Services and Performance Measurements. The PUC services saw slight approval drop from last year, which was in line with a slight drop in approval for all city services. However, the PUC service still rates an overall positive approval.
