The setting sun reflects off the icy Cottonwood River near County Road 13 just outside of New Ulm on Thursday. The thin layer of ice on the river, which is certainly unsafe, will probably fall victim to the warmth of the coming days. Highs in the upper 40s are predicted for Saturday, and mid 50s are forecasted for Sunday.
