NEW ULM In the third place game of the MLC High School Tip-Off Tournament, the Minnesota Valley Lutheran boys' basketball team fell at the hands of St. Croix Lutheran by a score of 75-57.

MVL got no closer in the second half and would go on to lose 75-57, but MVL coach Craig Morgan loved the effort of his guys.
"St. Croix is a good team," Morgan said. "I was happy with the effort that we got, our defense I thought played much better. We had turnovers, but I'm really happy and with the effort we have we will only keep improving."
MVL was led in scoring by Justin Bruns with 12 points, while Richard Jensen added nine points and Ryan Grunke and Chad Lease each scored seven points.
MVL shot 30 percent for the game and committed 31 turnovers in the loss, but also forced 34 turnovers and had 17 steals.
MVL drops to 0-2 and will return to action on Tuesday when they will host St. Clair.
