PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUDND-UP Sleepy Eye girls run past Martin Luther

SLEEPY EYE-The Sleepy Eye Indians built a 13-1 lead early in the first half en route to a win over Martin Luther Monday night in non-conference girls basketball.

Claire Krumbach led the Indians with 23 points, five rebounds, three steals and three blocks. Justine Gonzalez added 17 points, nine steals, and six assists.

Sleepy Eye (1-6, 0-2) plays Minnesota Valley Lutheran (7-0, 3-0) tonight in a Tomahawk Conference match-up.

GFW 40, BLHS 33

HECTOR - Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Monday in Tomahawk Conference girls basketball action.

Michelle Melsha led BLHS with 14 points. No GFW stats were submitted.

BLHS (0-6, 0-5) is at Wabasso Jan. 4 and GFW hosts Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity on Thursday.

BOLD 62, CM/C 38

COMFREY - BOLD defeated Cedar Mountain/Comfrey Monday night in the first round of the girls basketball CM/C Holiday Tournament.

Maggie Nagel led BOLD with 15 points, Baylie Kubesh added 14 points and Carly Sigurdson scored 12 points.

Allison Madsen led the Cougars with 19 points, three steals and three assists. Haley Weidman added eight points and five rebounds.

CM/C (3-4) will play Southwest Star tonight in Comfrey.

BOLD will play Lester Prairie-Holy Trinity for the tournament championship.
