NICOLLET - Ardis Odette (Peterson) Rossing, of Nicollet, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the age of 85. She had been under the compassionate care of the Pathstone Living Center staff in Mankato for the past few months.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 22nd, at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church of Norseland (rural St. Peter).
Visitation will be held at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet on Thursday, February 21st from 3:30 8 p.m. and also one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Friday.

Ardis was born to H. Walter and Josephine (Mickelson) Peterson on December 27, 1927 in Minneapolis. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. In her earlier years, she was employed in a downtown Minneapolis drug store, then as a telephone operator. She was married to Vernon Leroy Rossing on June 1, 1947 in Minneapolis. After marriage they lived in St. Louis Park, Braham, New Germany, Goodhue, Richfield, then settled in Nicollet, where she worked side by side with Vernon in his businesses. She is known for her contagious laughter, artistic hands, caring heart, generosity, plentiful good food, attention to detail, love of music, singing and whistling, and an endless sense of humor. We will miss the laughs and joy she brought to our lives.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Brian and Cathy Rossing of New Ulm, Todd, Lonnie, Erin (Valentin) Tutunaru, Jordan; Bradley and Beverly Rossing of Nicollet, David (Sarah) and great granddaughter, Chloe; Jill and Byron Norell of Gaylord, Luke, April (Eric) Schech, Paul, Emily; Julie and Mark Frankamp of Nicollet, Ethan, and Sierra; sister-in-law Judith Peterson of Richfield; brother-in-law Arne (Carol) Pederson; uncle, Joseph Mickelson of Starbuck; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Rossing; parents, H. Walter "Wally" and Josephine Peterson; sister, Doris Williams Pederson; and brother, Henry Peterson.
