Knights win big over Mustangs, Eagles stay unbeaten

St. Mary's 13, BLHS 3

SLEEPY EYE - Sleepy Eye St. Mary's defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart in six innings in a Tomahawk Conference baseball game Friday.

Mitch Neid went six innings, struck out nine and walked two for the Knights. Neid went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Jordan Anderson went 3-for-3 with one RBI and Jon Kopacek went 2-for-3.

Tate Lang was the losing pitcher for BLHS. Lang pitched two innings giving up six runs. Lang went 2-for-4 with a double.

St. Mary's (3-0) will host Blue Earth Area Monday.

BLHS (0-1) will host Cathedral Tuesday in a doubleheader.

New Ulm 3,

Worthington 1

ST. JAMES New Ulm defeated Worthington in a non-conference baseball match up Friday.

Chase Meyer pitched 6 2/3 innings, giving up eight hits, one run, one walk and struck out five for the Eagles. Cole Dulas earned the save for New Ulm.

New Ulm's Blake Neumann went 2-for-3 and Tanner Kluis went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Worthington's Deron Soderholm took the loss. He pitched two innings, gave up four hits, two runs, walked one and had one strikeout. Tyler Patterman and Nathan Ray each went 2-for-4.

New Ulm (3-0 in conference, 6-0 overall) will host Marshall at Johnson Field Monday.
