NEW ULM - The Brown County Board of Adjustment approved a pair of variance applications Wednesday in Milford and Bashaw Townships.
Kevin and Kathleen Finstad's application sought a front yard setback reduction from the required 135 feet to 80 feet from the center line of County Road 29 in Milford Township for construction of a 60x75 shop/storage industrial building in the I-1 Limited Industry Zoning District.
The Finstads will demolish an existing 50-year-old building after the New Ulm Fire Department conducts training at the site near the intersection of CR 29 and Boundary Street, just south of their Riverview Sanitation business. The building site is in line with adjacent property buildings and is surrounded by roads, according to the variance application worksheet.
Charles and Vicky Roiger applied for a variance to reduce the front yard setback from the required 125 feet to 75 feet to the center line of County Road 5 to allow for construction of a 12x18 deck in the A-1 Agricultural Protection Zoning District in Bashaw Township.
