Sleepy Eye defeats St. Peter

ST. PETER - Sleepy Eye legion defeated St. Peter 7-5 in legion baseball action Monday.

Mike Zinniel pitched the first four innings and struck out four. He gave up three runs. Mitch Neid pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing two runs to earn the win. Jordan Anderson earned the save. Anderson was 3-for-4 and Sean Mathiowetz was 2-for-4. Mitch Neid was 2-for-4 with an RBI and David Surprenant was 2-for-4.

Luke Renninger took the loss. He have up 10 hits and all seven runs. He also had two hits and Dylan Connar had three hits for St. Peter.

Sleepy Eye (3-0) hosts Mankato on Thursday.
