CLEVELAND - The New Ulm 18-U softball team swept Cleveland 8-0 and 5-1 Tuesday.
Carlie Maasz earned the win in the first game, striking out four in three innings. Kristin Mohr struck out two in two innings for New Ulm.
Hannah Backer was 3-for-3 and Abby Hauser was 2-for-2 in the first game.
Maasz also earned the win in the second game. She struck out six in five innings. Backer had a double and Kali Denn 1-for-3 with a home run.
New Ulm (19-4) is at Mankato Wednesday.
