NEW?ULM?- When New Ulm's Brandon Johnson doubled in Dalton Deinhart in the bottom of the first inning, it pulled the Kaiserhoff to within 2-1 of powerhouse Jordan on Friday night.
But that run would be the last hurrah for the "K" as Jordan scored eight unanswered runs in a 10-1 win against Kaiserhoff in a River Valley League game.
Scott Hollinsworth got the win for Jordan, going six innings and allowing just one run on eight hits.
Dalton Deinhart took the loss for New Ulm going 6 2/3 innings and being tagged with seven runs.
Joe Lucas had four hits for Jordan, which out-hit the Kaiserhoff 16-8.
Johnson and Jordan Schneider each had a double for New Ulm with Schneider collecting two hits.
The Kaiserhoff stayed close to Jordan at that 2-1 score until the top of the sixth, when Jordan plated two runs on a Trent Bohnsack single and a Joe Lucas base hit.
Jordan then pieced together a pair of three-run innings in the seventh and eighth.
A two-run single from Bohnsack, who had three RBIs in the game, and a Scott Breimhorst base hit upped the lead to 7-1.
In the eighth, it was a singles from Hollinsworth, a groundout by Mitch Ries and a fielder's choice closed out the scoring.
The Kaiserhoff hosts St.Peter on Sunday night at 6 p.m. at Johnson Park in another River Valley League game.
